Fano Shimura Varieties with Mostly Branched Cusps

چکیده
We prove that the Satake-Baily-Borel compactification of certain Shimura varieties are Fano varieties, Calabi-Yau or have ample canonical divisors with mild singularities. also some variants statements, give applications and discuss various examples including new ones, for instance, moduli spaces unpolarized (log) Enriques surfaces.

Shimura Varieties with Parahoric Level
This survey article is intended to introduce the reader to several important concepts relating to Shimura varieties with parahoric level structure at p. The main tool is the Rapoport-Zink local model [RZ], which plays an important role in several aspects of the theory. We discuss local models attached to general linear and symplectic groups, and we illustrate their relation to Shimura varieties...
متن کاملFano Varieties with Many Selfmaps
We study log canonical thresholds of effective divisors on weighted threedimensional Fano hypersurfaces to construct examples of Fano varieties of dimension six and higher having infinite, explicitly described, discrete groups of birational selfmaps.
متن کاملShimura Varieties and Moduli
Connected Shimura varieties are the quotients of hermitian symmetric domains by discrete groups defined by congruence conditions. We examine their relation with moduli varieties.
متن کاملDescent for Shimura Varieties
Wildeshaus and others have pointed out to me that it is not obvious that the descent maps on a Shimura variety given by Langlands’s Conjugacy Conjecture (Langlands 1979, Section 6) satisfy the continuity condition required for the descent to be effective. The following provides one proof of this (maybe not the best). Since the family (fσ) satisfying the conditions (a,b,c) below is unique (by th...
